The Artisan Kitchen Story

"A Sweet Little Place, a Little Out of the Way"

Opened in 2005 from the galley kitchen of her parents' home, The Artisan Kitchen began as a dream of Meredith Ciaburri for a small boutique style bakery with a focus on fresh, high quality pastries, along with fun whimsical cakes. There just wasn't anyone else in the area producing a high-quality bakery line.

Soon, the business warranted an expansion, and a small mudroom was converted into a commercial licensed bakery-kitchen. From 2006 to 2008, we expanded our wholesale business to local restaurants and grocery store, and our list of farmers markets grew as did our customer base.

After six months of construction our new bakery space is complete. We now have ample parking, a front end space dedicated to customers, a large high-efficiency kitchen, and separate packaging area, along with a sunny office space for tastings and cake consultations.

Our shop is open for regular business hours:

  • Wednesday through Friday, 10 am - 6 pm
  • Saturday from 10 am - 4 pm
  • Sunday from 10 am - 2 pm

About Meredith Ciaburri

The Artisan Kitchen, is located in Rochester (MA) on the SouthCoast of Massachusetts near Cape Cod. We are a small bakery that specializes in making your sweet dreams come true. From Wedding Cakes, Whimsical Cakes, Artisan Breads, Sandwich Breads, Local Fruit Pies, Cupcakes, & other baked goods, our bakery can satisfy your sweet tooth.

Proprietor and Pastry Chef Meredith Ciaburri, graduated as valedictorian of her graduating class at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, and completed an externship at The Sagamore Resort on Lake George. In 2006, Meredith graduated with Honors from Johnson & Wales Univeristy, in Providence, Rhode Island.

The bakery grew from the idea that sweet bakery treats should be wholesome, hand-crafted, and most importantly, absolutely delicious. We are dedicated to scratch-baked pastries, elegant custom cakes, and other savory treats.
